Do I have to know how to decorate the home?
Not unless you want to. While many of our hometenders enjoy decorating, it isn’t necessary. A few days after the move, our Design Team will come by to assist with decorating. We work as a team, helping you create a beautiful and comfortable environment. We make hometending fun, it’s what we do!

Do I need great credit to be a hometender?
We are looking for financial stability, not perfection. Some of our hometenders have hit some bumps, but their jobs are stable and they pay their bills on time. Everyone is looked at on a case-by-case basis. Reliability, flexibility and a sense of adventure are important.

What if the home I’m in sells immediately?
Over the years we have seen that most homes in our program do not sell immediately. While there is no guarantee, our hometenders usually enjoy a home for 6-8 months, several even over a year. With the money you save, it really makes it worthwhile. There are many factors that make a home a good ‘hometending’ home. When we meet with you, we teach you what you need to know so you can determine the situation that will best suit your needs.

Why would anyone in their right mind hometend?
We get this question a lot. The short answer is because it is fun. Usually hometending gives you an opportunity to live in homes that you probably wouldn’t buy yourself. Many times it’s like living in that dream home you wish you could afford. It gives you an opportunity to enjoy a luxury lifestyle, without having to spend beyond your means.

Am I gonna have to move all the time?
Frequency of move is determined by many factors. We go over all this with you and assist you in determining what situation will best suit your personal needs. We work hard finding homes that are less likely to sell fast. We also teach you how to move effectively. The key to a great move is efficient packing and unpacking. With our ‘tricks of the trade’, moving isn’t a huge burden.

Do you have pet restrictions?
Unfortunately, yes. Our owners have a zero pet tolerance. As much as we love them, pets present many difficulties with hometending. The biggest one being the owner’s comfort level, followed by added difficulty in showing the home. While most pets are well behaved and trained, it is a risk our owners have not been willing to take.
