Give your good taste the home it deserves…

The Life of a HomeTender…

My husband & I were relocating from Florida to San Antonio.  It was a time of transition for us.  We knew we didn’t want to live in an apartment, but we weren’t ready to buy a houseSteveandLena just yet.  A friend of ours told us about something she saw on TV.  Something about hometending.  We had never heard of the word, so we googled it.  A website for Executive HomeTenders came up.  It spoke about being able to live in a beautiful luxury home… for less than a thousand dollars a month.  That caught both of our attention, and we read on.

As hometenders, we would pay a greatly reduced monthly fee to live in a really wonderful house.  We would move in, decorate it and make it available for showings.   I’ve always been a neat person, so keeping the home tidy would be easy.   And decorating is something I’ve always enjoyed.  Steve, my husband works in an office all day.  Although I work out of my home, I’m spend most of my days meeting at my client’s offices.  It sounded like a perfect solution for us.

We scheduled to meet Veronica the next day.  She met us at one of the homes their company was hometending, so we could see what a hometended house looked like.  It was really beautiful.  During the walk-through, she talked with us about all of the ‘tricks-of-the-trade’.  Little things that we could do to make it easier to keep the home ready to show.  She also spoke with us about how they would assist us in staging the home to really show it off nicely.

Then we took off to go view some possible homes.  We were amazed, these homes were really beautiful.  3 & 4 bedrooms, 3+ baths, several of them even had 3 car garages.  Steve couldn’t believe the monthly fees.  I couldn’t believe the luxury appointments;  granite counters, top-of-the-line appliances.  Large walk-in closets and spa-like master baths.  Another benefit was I wouldn’t have to put my furniture in storage.  Veronica went over everything with us, from the application process to moving more efficiently.  By the end of the afternoon we had a good understanding what the program was & all of our questions were answered.

That evening, Steve & I discussed the hometending possibility.  It seems like the best choice for us.  And we really liked one of the homes we had seen in Sonterra.  Steve thought it made good money-sense also.  Even if we had to move in 6 or 8 months, because we’d be saving so much money each month, it worked out to be a great savings for us.   I was really happy about the quality of life we’d have in this beautiful home.  The neighborhood was top-notch.

We’ve been hometending for over a year now.  We were in the first home for 9 months.  The move wasn’t as bad as I imagined it would be.  We followed Veronica’s tips and it went smoothly.  The new house is even nicer than the last.  It’s like staying at a luxury hotel every day.  We really are loving it!
